History


Prototype of motorcycle Trial (unique frame and monolever rear suspension).

Jean-Pierre Fournales worked in the Aerospatiale design office (now EADS) in the years of 1973 and 1978 as a structures Engineer.

International Motocross driver from 1968 to 1978. he registered a patent in 1976 for a motorbike frame. This patent drew the attention of the Spanish Company Bultaco, first European manufacturer of off road motorbikes, for which Jean-Pierre Fournales became a technical adviser.

He designed the first oleopneumatic shock absorbing suspension which was fitted to the motorbikes of the winners of the 1978 world trials championship (1st and 2nd places).


In September 1978, Jean Pierre Fournales set up FOURNALES FRANCE and left the “Aerospatiale” to devote himself exclusively to the manufacture of its shock absorbers.The activity of the company was fully oriented towards the control and dissemination of the “oil- pneumatic” technology. This hard work accomplished by Mr Fournales over the years made him the true specialist in this technique.

In 1991, JP Fournales set up DELTA PRODUCTION, to develop a highly innovative product for Harley Davidson Softail, the, "Pan Cruise" : the Fournales Pan-cruise have two chambers containing oil and air. One controls the spring rate and the other controls the ride height. Both can be adjusted with an air pump, no tools needed.


FOURNALES FRANCE and DELTA PRODUCTION merged in 1996 under the name of">FOURNALES SUSPENSION Company. Headquartered in Toulouse, its aim is to study and manufacture suspensions and shock absorbers based on Jean-Pierre Fournales original oleopneumatic technology.

The expertise of the company is to design and manufacture innovative and high performance products (prototypes, small and medium production rates) to the highest quality.
